Avalon Animal Hospital is hiring an Inventory Management Specialist.
We are a fully equipped, full service general practice located in the beautiful town of Logy Bay – Middle Cove – Outer Cover, on the doorsteps of St. John’s, NL.

The ideal candidate for the Inventory Management Specialist position will have excellent problem solving and communication skills and enjoy working with a team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with existing inventory system in Avimark to optimize inventory control.
Weekly ordering of medications, pet food, supplies and all other items required to run our hospital.
Maintain sufficient inventory levels.
Receiving, unpacking and shelf stocking. Must be comfortable with lifting and standing.
Meet with suppliers.
Weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly physical inventory counts.
Highlight new products from suppliers with our team of DVM’s for review.
Complete product returns.
Review and communicate expiry dates with hospital staff.
Track in clinic use, expired, discrepancies and wasted.
Communicate effectively with the management team.
Staying informed about regulatory changes affecting products/processes, authoring/reviewing SOPs.
Completion of the new WHIMS training and be familiar with The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
Education and Experience
The successful candidate can multitask and is good at prioritizing.
The successful candidate strives to deliver things on time and pushes to meet KPIs.
The successful candidate should be strongly self-motivated with a positive outlook.
Quality Assurance education considered an asset.
Knowledge of Avimark software considered an asset.
Prior experience working in a veterinary hospital or pharmacy considered an asset.
